Health issues started for Callist, when he was in school. His eyesight was getting poorer for which he got spectacles and kept changing as required. But four years ago, he suddenly collapsed, and the local hospital diagnosed him with Malaria. Everything was fine but two years back he collapsed again. Again, he was told that it was Malaria. Recently, he collapsed for almost 18 hours after which he was flown to a hospital in the city of Kampala.

There, under the supervision of the Neurologist, he was put through a scan, which revealed that he had a tumour. Two day prior to the procedure, Callist was taken for an eye check-up and it was found that his eyesight had deteriorated very badly.

According to Dr. Rajakumar, the tumour was sitting above the Pituitary Gland and this was affecting the hormones and his vision; particularly, because it was affecting the Optic Nerve. Soon after a date was set for the procedure. With the help of the latest surgical technology, medicines and most importantly, the proficiency of Dr. Rajakumar, the surgery was performed successfully. The tumour was completely removed. In this procedure, they enter through a particular section of the Brain and then remove it via the nose. Though it sounds very complex, but Callist says that Dr. Rajakumar ensured that everything went right.

Even after the surgery, Callist didn’t face any complications and had a very smooth recovery time. Every morning, Dr. Rajakumar came to check, if Callist was having any difficulty. His eyesight has improved a lot, he feels completely hale and hearty and is looking forward to a bright future.
